For those who were diagnosed with gluten intolerance, the tiny “gluten-free” label could truly be your lifesaver, right? However, if you don’t even have this problem, why are you even choosing a gluten-free diet over a normal one? The truth is, you’re not really helping yourself at all.

Contrary to popular belief, gluten-free doesn’t really mean that the food item is healthier. These products just supplant wheat flour with something else – this isn’t really beneficial for you. Likewise, a lot of gluten-free food items are packed with starch and sugar, making them unhealthy.

Just think about it, as you opt for a gluten-free diet, thinking you’re on your way to losing weight, you’re just getting a lot of carbs, and a very few nutrients. Before you know it, you’re unhealthier than how you used to be.

That said, here are just some of the most common gluten free products that are STILL harmful!

1. Pre-Made Salads

It is true that the convenience store salads could be a healthy choice. However, the dressings it contains is different.

For one, most salad dressings are packed with sugar, that you can even spot ones with more than 50 grams of sugar per serving. Obviously, that is very bad for the body, but there is another issue with these sugary dressing and skimpy salads – dressings with too much sugar content can cause the sugar level to elevate.

What does this imply? You’ll feel hungrier and crave for more sugar even if you just had a meal.

However, what if the only option is these dressings with lots of sugar? There’s still a solution for that. Instead of eating your salad without dressing (which is very unappetizing), you should just grab a pre-made sandwich instead. It is tasty, healthy, and will make you feel satisfied for several hours.
